A note from Amy
The students in my class all participate in the "Highly Structured Positive Behavior Support Program". Students are placed in the program after being identified as having an emotional behavioral disorder. My students all struggle with controlling their emotions, using healthy coping skills, and displaying appropriate behaviors throughout the school setting. Many of my kids are working to overcome trauma they’ve experienced in their short lives. The trauma comes from having incarcerated parents, death of a parent, foster care, sexual and physical abuse, basic needs left unmet, etc.
