A note from Jen
This is my 19th year of teaching. This is my 4th year teaching 1st grade. I previously taught preschool for 11 years, and I was a special education teacher in a classroom severe-profound disabilities. The students in my first grade class come from low-income households. For many of the students, we are their safe place, their “home.” They also rely on the daily nutrition at school, as they may not get a lot of food at home.
