A note from Marcie
I am begining my 27th year teaching in a large Urban district. This year I was transfered from my small k-4 school where I taught k-4 Science, S.S, an Stem to a large k-8 school and will be teaching 1st grade. Even though this was not a transfer I wanted I am excited to begin this journey and want to make sure my littles have everything they need to be successful. On my list I have put a rolling desk to allow me to plug the document camera into the cleartouch board. This will allow me to show and model what the students need to do on their work. Many of my students come from low income families and school is the only place food is a given. Having snacks available for those students who are unable to come to class with them is important to me as hungry students can not focus on what we are learning. Throughout the year I add to this list to replenish my classroom supplies as we go through them with all the work we are doing.
A book Marcie recommends
My students love the piggy and elephant books.
Adopt Marcie’s classroom
A wishlist is one moment in a long year. Supplies run out, holiday projects need their own things, and the snack drawer is empty again by February. Adopting means Marcie can tell you what comes up next, and how the year is going in the room itself.
