A note from Maria
I am in an old storage closet. We only just got bookshelves at the end of the previous school year, when I taught third grade. The shelves arrived after I came back from leave after my admin had ordered it in the summer. My students need these items as we do a lot of small group work in order to provide ENL and special education students equitable access to curriculum. I also work really hard to make sure every student gets the most out of their schooling experience. I graduated from the NYC public schools and my classrooms were often underfunded and under resourced and I don’t want the same for the students in my classrooms. They deserve better. We all do.

Adopt Maria’s classroom
A wishlist is one moment in a long year. Supplies run out, holiday projects need their own things, and the snack drawer is empty again by February. Adopting means Maria can tell you what comes up next, and how the year is going in the room itself.
