A note from Melissa
My list currently has Kohl’s gift cards and snacks because I do teach in a Title 1 school. I have kids in my class that are not able to bring supplies or snacks that they need simply because the parents cannot afford it. I am a single mom of two girls myself, but I still find ways each month to spend money out of my own pocket to make sure every one of my students are taken care of. I’m so appreciative for the help that law Twitter has brought this summer. Thank you for all you are doing ♥️
A book Melissa recommends
I love the book Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes. We always read this book at the beginning of the year together. It teaches the kids that everyone is unique and special in their own way. It’s been a class favorite for years.
Adopt Melissa’s classroom
A wishlist is one moment in a long year. Supplies run out, holiday projects need their own things, and the snack drawer is empty again by February. Adopting means Melissa can tell you what comes up next, and how the year is going in the room itself.
Once a month at the most, written by Melissa. One click to stop, whenever you like. Melissa never sees your address, and it is used for nothing else.
